Dr. Werner Lowenthal was a beloved Professor of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutics and the Director of Continuing Education at the VCU School of Pharmacy. He joined the School’s faculty in 1961 and gave thirty-one years of his heart and soul to pharmacy education before he retired in 1992. extraordinary. The purpose of the Lowenthal Endowment Fund is to support graduate students pursuing a Ph.D. at the VCU School of Pharmacy with a specialty in one of the pharmaceutical sciences and who are participating in hands-on research in the area of genetically based neurological diseases. The Fund stipend may be utilized for not only a student stipend but also in support of research expenses.
