School of Pharmacy

In 1997, Lindsay Wesley Butler P’22 made a gift of $15,000 to endow the Ruggiero Fellowship at the School of Pharmacy.   The Eli Lilly Foundation tripled Butler’s gift for an endowment of $45,000.   The annual stipend supports a young faculty research in the department of pharmacy outcome science.

Dr. John Ruggiero served as dean of the School of Pharmacy for fourteen years, from 1982 –1996, during which time the Smith Building was completed and opened, and the transition was made from the bachelor of science degree program to postbaccalaureate Pharm.D.  Ruggiero also initiated the combined Pharm.D./Ph.D. program.
