The David D. Marshall Scholarship was endowed in memory of David Marshall P’63. David was a successful independent pharmacy owner in Charlottesville Virginia.   He was died on September 12, 1988 when his private plane crashed.   David and his brother, Forrest Marshall P’59, owned and operated Medical Arts Pharmacy and Chancellor’s Drug Store.

This permanently endowed scholarship was established by David’s widow, Sandra Marshall Johnson, and their children. The scholarship supports married pharmacy students who ranks academically in the top half of the class in their P4 year.   Mr. and Mrs. Marshall were married while David was still in pharmacy school. Mrs. Marshall recalls how difficult it was to juggle family, work and school. She hopes to ease this burden for a current married P4 student.
