John W. Hasty and Kelly Kale Scholarship

John Hasty, class of 1956, and his daughter, Kelly Hasty Kale, class of 1985, established this endowment to provide scholarships to deserving pharmacy students from the counties of Caroline, Charles City, Essex, Gloucester, James City, King and Queen, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, Rappahannock, York and the cities of Williamsburg, Newport News and Poquoson.

This scholarship is available to a student who demonstrates scholastic ability and has financial need. Applicants must be from one of the following areas: the counties of Caroline, Charles City, Essex, Gloucester, James City, King and Queen, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, Rappahannock, York and the cities of Williamsburg, Newport News and Poquoson. John and Kelly each owned independent pharmacies within these boundaries. John also served as executive director of the VPhA, and Director the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

Criteria

  • Pharmacy student in any of the four years
  • Merit scholarship
  • This scholarship is available to a “deserving Pharmacy student”. Applicants must be from one of the following areas: the counties of Caroline, Charles City, Essex, Gloucester, James City, King and Queen, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, Rappahannock, York and the cities of Williamsburg, Newport News and Poquoson
